Thank Rich I graduated in 1971 only year of conscription . Hope I spelled that correctly . 17 years old unfamiliar territory on orange sunshine tripping . Things that went on there weren't very pleasant !!!! CCR JIMI HENDRIX LED ZEPPELIN MARVIN GAYE made alot of things that made Friday the 13 cartoon . I'm still here with my faculty (selective memory cognitive thinking while listening to CCR not so much for few friends and comrades here life in the tropics . Malama Pono Veterans of that Era .

Have to keep digging for this song year after year. This is the best representation. Half a hard time finding it year after year because there are more videos that are okay, but don't measure up to this one.

IMHO this is right up there with "In a Gadda Da Vida" as one of the great classic rock masterpieces. Just a joy to listen to; pure ear candy! I love those solos and the great rhythm.

Ed Sullivan must have loved this song; for on this day in 1969 {May 18th} the 5th Dimension performed it for the third time on his Sunday night CBS-TV program... The first time the quintet sang it on the 'Sullivan' show was January 28th, 1968 and then again two months later on March 10th, 1968... "Up, Up and Away" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 on May 28th, 1967; five weeks later July 2nd, 1967 it peaked at #7 (for 3 weeks) and it stayed on the chart for 12 weeks... Original group member Ron Townson passed away on August 2nd, 2001 at the age of 68... R.I.P. to Mr. Townson and Mr. Sullivan...

Love the little alligators :) they're so cuuute... Had to sit down and play some drums--like RIGHT NOW...:) It was up between the HUGE Ludwig Bonham set (my favorite kit ever-ever:) and the smaller, highly affordable Sakae cocktail kit (they used to make cocktail kits for Yamaha) for 644.00 leaving Vic's Drum shop (Chicago) WITH GREAT, immensely effective but VERY, VERY light and compact hardware AND Remo coated Ambassadors as God Himself intended :). The original heads were kinda cr*p...but it's a GREAT kit. It even holds up in volume AGAINST that monster Bonham kit :) I like DW, but they don't do LOUD as well. I've seen vids where they're a bit too quiet. I've yet to see a normal Ludwig set too quiet...minus those stupid ones with no bottom heads--big in the 70's...(Karen Carpenter used that setup on the same kit Bonham had in blue). And of course, a Ludwig 402 Bonham snare is STILL the greatest snare I ever touched, though I try not to touch too much stuff at Vic's because I WILL buy it...barely have room for what I have and I STILL want portable congas, a cajone, and the Karl Perrazo timbales... The only downside is the pedals aren't the greatest, or at least not DW stuff. But DW stuff (one pedal) is about what the whole kit cost so...my larger guy friend says the kick walks a bit and I can see that.
